La enseñanza de la lengua inglesa en España: Apuntes para una transición (1970-1995)

Abstract

[ES] Los veinticinco años que separan el final del régimen franquista del momento actual ofrecen tres referencias legislativas relevantes (L.G.E. de 1970, L.O.D.E. de 1985 y L.O.G.S.E. de 1990) que aportan un cantidad importante de datos generales y específicos respecto a la transición política española. La lengua inglesa también ha sufrido una serie de cambios que la sitúan en el umbral del nuevo siglo como nueva "lingua franca" que puede contribuir a acortar las distancias comunicativas de esta "aldea global". Con el análisis comparativo de las consideraciones que la lengua inglesa ha ido teniendo en nuestro sistema educativo a lo largo de este capítulo histórico se pretende extraer una serie de conclusiones que ayuden a hacer de la lengua inglesa un vehículo poderoso de educación social y una fuente de aprendizaje colectivo.

[EN] The twenty-five years between the régime of General Franco's dictatorship and the present moment were strongly affected by three relevant laws of Education (L.G.E. in 1970, L.O.D.E. in 1985 and L.O.G.S.E. in 1990) which offer an important amount of general and specific data about the Spanish political transition. The English language also went through a number of changes which place it at the beginning of the new century as a new "lingua franca" contributing to diminish the communicative distances in this "global village". Through a comparative analysis of the English language in our educative system in this particular period of our history we have tried to draw a number of conclusions which aim to understand the English language as a powerful vehicle for social education as well as a source of collective learning.
