Análisis de cursos de Educación Social en entornos virtuales de aprendizaje y su influencia en la calidad

Abstract

[ES] El presente artículo muestra una síntesis de los resultados obtenidos en la tesis doctoral «Análisis de cursos de Educación Social: Los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje y su incidencia en la calidad». Analizar los cursos de Educación Social en entornos virtuales de aprendizaje y su incidencia en la calidad constituye el objetivo principal de la tesis. Se pretende estudiar la participación (accesos, mensajes leídos y enviados a los foros) y la calidad (entorno, metodología didáctica y técnica) que ofrecen los cursos virtuales. Además, se busca conocer la relación entre la participación y la calidad, analizar cómo influye el uso de los medios tecnológicos en la calidad del aprendizaje y, por último, presentar una propuesta de mejora de los cursos. La fundamentación teórica de la investigación está contextualizada en la Educación Social, la calidad en la enseñanza universitaria y en Internet, el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior y los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje. Se utilizó un diseño mixto de investigación (cualitativo y cuantitativo) por medio de diferentes técnicas e instrumentos de evaluación. El análisis de datos se ha desarrollado por medio de un análisis descriptivo y un análisis relacional. Se llevó a cabo una discusión de resultados de cada uno de los cursos virtuales por separado y una discusión de los resultados de toda la muestra. Para finalizar el artículo se presentan conclusiones, limitaciones del estudio y prospectiva de la investigación.

[EN] This article presents a resume of the results obtained in the investigation made in the doctoral Thesis «Analysis of courses of Social Education: The virtual surroundings of learning and their incidence in the quality». The main objective of this Thesis is to analyze the courses of Social Education in virtual environment of learning and its incidence in the quality. In order to achieve this aim, the study has focused on two aspects of the virtual courses: Participation (Accesses, Messages received from and send to the forums) and Quality (Environment, Didactic and Technical Methodology). In addition, an analysis is carried on to know the relation between these two aspects in order to study how the use of technological media influences on the quality of learning. Finally, a proposal of improvement of the virtual courses is outlined. The theoretical context in which the investigation is based includes the Social Education, the quality in university education and Internet, the European Space of Superior Education and the virtual environment of learning. The investigation design chosen was mixed: qualitative and quantitative, so that, the data obtained with different evaluation techniques and tools have been treated with both descriptive and relational analysis. The discussion of the results is presented in a double way: a global one, referred to the whole sample and other specific to each course under study. Finally, some conclusions are outlined as well as the limitations of the study and some ideas for further research.
