dc.description.abstractInasmuch as maguer does not involve, in fact, the case of an uncertain etymology, the use of the semantical course leading from the application of the greek adjective μακ?ριος ('blissful') to the medieval Spanish concessive conjunction may be somewhat surprising. An attempt is made here, through observation of various Hnguistical means to provide the concessive effect, alto through a brief analysis of the latter, to throw some Hght on this semantical course.es_ES
