La política de incorporación de señoríos a la Corona en la Navarra de la Edad Moderna

Abstract

[ES] Durante el siglo XV los reyes de Navarra, ai igual que en Castilla y Aragon, cedieron un gran número de rentas y de jurisdicciones a la nobleza. No obstante, los pueblos no se resignaron a perder su condición de realengo. Así, durante la segunda mitad del siglo XV, éstos aprovecharon las guerras de bandos entre agramonteses y beaumonteses para conseguir el apoyo de los monarcas y librarse de la jurisdicción señorial. Esta oposición al régimen señorial se mantuvo a lo largo de la Edad Moderna, sobre todo en los siglos XVI y XVII, gracias a bastantes procesos de incorporación a la Corona. Si bien la mayoría de los pleitos planteados por los pueblos no tuvo éxito, al menos sirvió para mantener una resistencia antiseñorial hasta comienzos del siglo XLX. [EN] During the Fifteenth century the kings of Navarra, the same as in Castilla and Aragón, relinquished a great number of revenues and jurisdictions to the aristocracy. Nevertheless the rural communities were not resigned to lose their condition of royal villages [«realengo»]. Thus, during second half of the Fifteenth century, used the faction wars among «agramonteses» and «beaumonteses» to obtain the support of the monarchs and be released of the seigneurial government. This opposition to the seigneurial regime was maintained throughout the Early Modern Age, specially in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries, through many incorporation cases to the Crown in the courts of Navarra. If the most of the cases defended by the villages did not be successful, at least served to maintain a resistance anti-seigneurial until beginning of the Nineteenth century.
