Arte Esquemático en la fachada oriental de la Península Ibérica. 25 años después

Abstract

[ES] El registro de yacimientos con Arte Esquemático en la fachada oriental de la Península Ibérica se aproxima al medio millar, aunque muchos de ellos permanecen inéditos o se han publicado parcialmente. A partir de la información disponible se analizan las características de las manifestaciones artísticas de tendencia esquemática del Neolítico Antiguo, identificadas como Arte Macroesquemático y Arte Esquemático Antiguo, y a partir de los ídolos y de otras imágenes simbólicas, la distribución espacial del Arte Esquemático del Calcolítico. Se plantea, asimismo, sus orígenes, evolución y la perduración de algunos de sus motivos hasta época histórica.

[EN] So far, close to five hundred sites displaying examples Schematic Art have been found along the east façade of the Iberian Peninsula, although no or only partial information has been published about many of them. Based on the information available, this paper analyses the characteristics of schematic artistic displays from the Early Neolithic Period, known as “Macroschematic Art” and “Early Schematic Art”, as well as the spatial distribution of Schematic Art from the third century BC, based on idols and other symbolic images. The paper also discusses the origins, evolution and survival of some of the motifs right up to the historic period.
