De los Vándalos a los Suevos en Galicia: Una visión crítica sobre su instalación y organización territorial en el noroeste de la Península Ibérica en el siglo V

Abstract

RESUMEN: A través de una relectura de las fuentes escritas y de los datos proporcionados por la arqueología abordaremos el problema de la instalación de los Suevos en el Noroeste de la Península Ibérica (concretamente en el territorio de la actual región gallega) en el s. V. Nuestro análisis de las fuentes mencionadas, nos ha conducido a proponer nuevas interpretaciones e hipótesis de trabajo sobre: la cuestión del reparto del 411 entre los diferentes grupos germánicos (en este caso entre Vándalos Hasdingos y Suevos); el proceso de expansión territorial de los Vándalos Hasdingos y, finalmente, sobre la integración territorial del espacio perteneciente al conventus lucense en el área de influencia sueva, tras el éxodo de los Vándalos al Norte de África.

ABSTRACT: Through a rereading of the written sources and facts supplied by the archaeology we will tackle the settlement problem of the Suevos in the north-west in the Iberian Peninsula (to make specific, nowadays the Galician area) in the V Century. Our analysis of the mentioned sources, has led us to propose new interpretations and hypothesis of work about: the matter of the distribution in 411 between the differents Germanic groups (in this case between Hasdingos Vandals and Suevos); the territorial expansion process of the Hasdingos Vandals and, finally, about the territorial integration of the space belonging to Conventus Lucense in the influence Sueva area, after the Vandals emigration to North Africa.
