Apuntes sobre la arqueología de la Lex Ursonensis

Abstract

RESUMEN: Mientras se confirman las propuestas de J. Mallon acerca de la composición y reconstrucción del conjunto de la Lex Ursonensis, sus ideas sobre una colocación no rígida de las distintas tablas y la copia directa del texto desde un rollo de papiro así como su hipótesis de una fundición de las tablas inscritas por el método de la cera perdida son rechazadas. La datación tradicional, en época flavia, de la grabación de las tablas conservadas carece de fundamento, y los rasgos paleográficos abogan por una fecha en época Claudia aproximadamente.

ABSTRACT: Whereas J.Mallon's reconstruction of the original composition of the tables containing the text of the Lex Ursonensis is basically sound, the arguments he uses to show that the different tables were not permanenly joined and that the text had been copied directly from a roll of papyrus as well his hypothesis about the founding of the inscribed tables a cire perdue do not stand up to scrutiny. The traditional Flavian date for the engraving of the text on the tables we have repudiated for paleographical reasons in favor of a date in the reign of Claudius approximately.
