Síntesis del Paleógeno Continental de la Cuenca del Duero

Abstract

[ES]El origen de las cuencas de sedimentación paleógenas fue la removilización de las antiguas fracturas hercínicas, formadora de un relieve suficientemente rejuvenecido o renovado durante todo el Terciario. De gran importancia es la falla de Alba-Villoria, de rumbo NNE, cuyo trazado se ha podido deducir a lo largo de decenas de km, delimitando por el E el contacto entre paleógeno (o el zócalo con el Mioceno). Los sucesivos rejuegos tectónicos han compartimentado en la región la distribución de las unidades estratégicas, especialmente la más antigua de ellas: el Preluteciense.

[EN]The origin of Paleogene sedimentation basin was the remobilization of ancient hercynian fractures, forming a relief sufficiently rejuvenated or renewed throughout the Tertiary. Of great importance is the failure of Alba-Villoria, NNE-trending, whose track has been able to deduct over tens of km and identified by the contact between Paleogene E (or the socket with the Miocene).
