Villamayor: nuevo yacimiento con artiodáctilos del eoceno de la Cuenca del Duero (Salamanca, Castilla y León, España)

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se estudia un fragmento mandibular con P/4-M/3 y raíces de P/2 y P/3 del yacimiento eocénico de Villamayor (provincia de Salamanca, Cuenca del Duero, España), determinado como Leptotheridium sp. (Dacrytheriidae, Artiodactyla, Mammalia). La talla, la morfología mandibular y la dentaria lo asemejan a Leptotheridium sp. del cercano yacimiento de Caenes (provincia de Salamanca, Bartoniense medio-superior, MP 15-16). La dispersión temporal del género sitúa a Villamayor entre el Bartoniense (MP 14-16) y el Priaboniense inferior (MP 17).

[EN] In this work a mandible with P/4-M/3 and roots of P/2 y P/3 from the eocenic bed of Villamayor (province of Salamanca, Duero basin, Spain) is studied. This material is classified as Leptotheridium sp. (Dacrytheriidae, Artiodactyla, Mammalia). The size and the mandibular and dental morphologies are similar to Leptotheridium sp. from the near bed of Caenes (province of Salamanca, middle-upper Bartonian, MP 15-16). The temporary range of the genus sets Villamayor between the Bartonian (MP 14-16) and the lower Priabonian (MP-17).
