[EN]The turtles are reptiles "anapsos" with unique characteristics that clearly independent of order, without, on the other hand, with the possible exception Eunotosaurus-known forms of transition right now with other groups of reptiles. The high proportion of chelonians dramatically manifested in the acquisition of a shell, comprising a ventral, flattened, or plastron breastplate, and dorsal carapace convenxa call. Both are joined laterally by expanding elements of the breastplate, which form bone or cartilage external bridges as appropriate; two lobes, anterior and posterior outline the breastplate, releasing the head, limbs and tail.
