| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN]The technique to be followed when beginning an excavation for paleomacrovertebrate remains does not necessarily have to follow any given protocol. Firstly, topography, lithology and dip determine the steps that should be followed. These in turn will depend on both the conditions of the accumulation and the kind of fossil to be uncovered. The excavations performed by the present authors over the 1989-1990 period involved a large variety of techniques, including the following: Coca (lateral isolation); Tordesillas (lateral uncovering of horizontal planes, with a graticulate grid); Valdegallina (lateral uncovering of hotizontal planes without a graticulate grid); Casaseca (vertical uncovering of horizontal planes by plots); Mazaterón (uncovering of inclined planes); Villarroya (galleries); Corrales (shoring). | |
