La vida musical en los Conventos Femeninos de Alba de Tormes

Abstract

[ES] Esta tesis trata de realizar una proximidad a los estudios de género, desde una perspectiva académica que valore los estudios en torno a la figura femenina y su rol dentro de la sociedad y la cultura. Se intentan establecer fuertes relaciones, que entre espiritualidad, sociedad, política y economía, funcionaron al interior de los Monasterios femeninos y sus cambios a través de los siglos. También es objeto de esta tesis conocer la vida de las mujeres músicas, que en su momento llegaron a ser Abadesas o alcanzaron otros cargos de responsabilidad y de jerarquía dentro de los Monasterios, mujeres ilustradas, talentosas e instruidas, con gran espíritu de trabajo, de abnegación y ante todo que fueron grandes gestoras, administradoras de capitales y con grandes responsabilidades. Además se pretende conocer las circunstancias y particularidades de la vida conventual en los Monasterios de Santa Fe de Bogotá, en el antiguo Reino de la Nueva Granada, hoy territorio de la República de Colombia, y hacer un análisis comparativo con los Monasterios investigados en Alba de Tormes. Y por último se intenta rescatar, estudiar y catalogar algunos de los repertorios de las Capillas Musicales existentes en los Monasterios Albenses, ligados a la liturgia y a las grandes celebraciones de los mismos.

[EN] This thesis is close to making a gender studies from an academic perspective that values the studies on the female figure and its role within society and culture. Is trying to establish strong relationships, that between spirituality, society, politics and economics, worked inside the female monasteries and their changes through the centuries. It is also the subject of this thesis about the life of women musicians, which in turn became Abbesses or reached other positions of responsibility and hierarchy within the monasteries, women enlightened, talented and educated, with great spirit, industrial, dedication and above all who were great managers, managers of capital and great responsibilities. It also aims to determine the circumstances and characteristics of monastic life in the monasteries of Santa Fe de Bogota, in the former Kingdom of New Granada, now the territory of the Republic of Colombia, and make a comparative analysis of the Monasteries investigated in Alba Tormes. Lastly, the author tries to rescue, to study and catalog some of the repertoires of the existing music chapels and monasteries Albian, linked to the liturgy and the great celebrations of the same.
