La imagen de la mujer y la música como transmisora de la tradición oral musical

Abstract

[ES] En este artículo queremos mostrar la imagen de la mujer española como creadora e intérprete de música vocal e instrumental, tanto 'culta' como popular, así como el valor que tiene este trabajo femenino. Al hablar de música popular recordamos el papel preponderante de la mujer como artífice de la improvisación, y del arraigo de la música en las tareas cotidianas que realiza. Para describir estas imágenes mostraremos testimonios puntuales de la actividad musical de las mujeres en la Prehistoria, en la España romana, en la cultura árabe, en la cultura judía y en la actualidad, a través de la tradición oral.

[EN] In this article we want to show the image of the Spanish woman as composer and interpreter of vocal and instrumental music, also for classical and popular music, as well as the importance of this feminine role for the musical composition and interpretation. On popular music we remember the preponderant paper of the woman with the musical improvisation, and with the music for the daily jobs at home and in their different jobs that she realizes. To describe these images we will show punctual testimonies of the musical activity with oral tradition by women in the Prehistory, in the Roman Spain, in the Arabic culture, in the Jewish culture and nowadays.
