Presencia de Leptotheridium (Dacrytheriidae, Artiodactyla, Mammalia) en el yacimiento eocénico de Caenes (Cuenca del Duero, Salamanca, España)

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se estudian un M/3 y un fragmento mandibular con M/3 de Artiodactyla del yacimiento del Eoceno medio (MP 15-16) de Caenes (Cuenca del Duero, Salamanca, España), determinados como Leptotheridium sp. (Dacrytheriidae). De las tres formas reconocidas en dicho género se asemeja, por las dimensiones, a Leptotheridium cí.traguloides del Rhenaniense superior (MP 16) de Europa occidental. También puede estar relacionado con ci.Leptotheridium de Mazaterón (Rhenaniense superior, subcuenca de Almazán, provincia de Soria), única cita anterior del género en la Cuenca del Duero. El hallazgo confirma la edad establecida para el yacimiento de Caenes en trabajos anteriores.

[EN] In this paper a M/3 and a fragment of mandible with M/3 of Artiodactyla from the middle Eocene (MP 15-16) bed of Caenes (Duero Bassin, Salamanca, Spain) are studied. This material is classified as Leptotheridium sp. (Dacrytheriidae). According to it's size it's similar to Leptotheridium cf.traguloides from the upper Rhenanian (MP 16) of western Europe, wich is one of the three forms recognized in that genus. It may be connected with cf.Leptotheridium from Mazaterón (upper Rhenanian MP 15-16, Almazán subbassin, province of Soria), wich was the only previous reference of the genus Leptotheridium in the Duero bassin. The finding confirms the age established in earlier papers.
