La enseñanza de la Revolución Francesa en Portugal y en Brasil. Un estudio comparado

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este artículo se estudia cómo se ha enseñado y se enseña la Revolución Francesa a lo largo del último siglo, en Portugal y Brasil, dos espacios geopolíticos culturalmente ligados, pero muy diferentes. En ambos países se ha concedido una gran importancia a este fenómeno histórico, pero mientras en Portugal se registran situaciones que van de la crítica contrarrevolucionaria hasta análisis «objetivos» con ligeras inflexiones marxistas, en Brasil se aprecia siempre una notable «simpatía» hacia la Revolución. Registros ideológicos, culturales y «memoriales» diferentes están, pues, en el origen de producciones e interpretaciones históricas distintas. ABSTRACT:This article deals with the way of teaching on the French Revolution throught the century in Portugal and Brazil, two geopolitical countries with cultural links but very different. Great importance has been given to this historic phenomenon in bath countries, but whereas in Portugal the situations registered range from contrarevolutionary criticism to «objective» analyses with slight Marxist inflections, in Brazil a notable liking for the Revolution is always appreciated. Therefore, diverse ideological, cultural and memory registers are behind the origin of different productions and interpretations of history. *
