Factores pronósticos en la corrección quirúrgica de la incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo mediante cinta suburetral transobturatriz

Abstract

[ES] La incontinencia urinaria (IU) ha sido definida por la Sociedad Internacional de Continencia (ICS) como la pérdida involuntaria de orina a través de la uretra, objetivamente demostrable y de tal magnitud que constituya un problema social o higiénico. Conduce a una morbilidad significativa, afectando la vida social y ocupacional con repercusión en la salud psicológica, física y sexual de la mujer. Con respecto a la incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo (IUE), la fuga de orina no debe ir precedida de urgencia miccional y debe ser sincrónica con el esfuerzo o el ejercicio. Hasta el 30% de los pacientes con IUE pueden asociar urgencia miccional. Pueden coexistir IUE e inestabilidad vesical, tratándose, en este caso, de incontinencia mixta. Además, los esfuerzos físicos pueden desencadenar contracciones involuntarias del detrusor que condicionasen escapes de orina, en estos casos existirá un pequeño lapso de tiempo entre el esfuerzo y la fuga de orina
