El Reino de Asturias desde la perspectiva de las fuentes árabes

Abstract

[EN]After having analysed the Arabic sources concerning this topic -both historical and geographical- we know that the stereotyped and pejorative ideas they had about the Christians who lived in the north-west of the Spanish Peninsula: the were known as the bravest and the most dangerous wichin the rest of the Christian Community. Actually the occupation of that territory was never successfully accompilished. The beriberi rebellion against Arabs in the Peninsula (and maybe some remaining organised Germanic communities or the new born Astur kingdom) joined to adverse climate changes provoked the isolation of the North-West part from the Andalusi social development. During this called "Occupation" treaties were made or broken depending on the circunstances. [ES] Después del repaso de las fuentes históricas y geográficas árabes que hablan del tema, sabemos la opinión peyorativa y estereotipada que los musulmanes tenían de los cristianos del noroeste peninsular, que eran los más feroces y peligrosos. La ocupación del territorio no fue jamás efectiva y menos aún densa. La rebelión bereber contra los árabes en la Península y tal vez de núcles germanos todavía con alguna cohesión, así como el nacimiento del reino astur, aunados los cambios climáticos, dieron lugar a que el cuadrante noroeste peninsular quedara fuera de la formación social andalusí. Y mientras esta "ocupación" existió, los pactos se hicieron según lo dictaron las circustancias, rompiéndose a menudo.
