Through two hagiographic late antique sources, the «Vita Sancti Macarii Romani» and the «Navigatio Brendani», we will try to analyze a new Christian concept of the geographic space shaped by means of the metaphor of the travel; travel that the protagonists, monks in both cases, undertake towards a real and, at the same time, imaginary destiny: the earthly paradise.
A través de dos fuentes hagiográficas tardoantiguas, la «Vita Sancti Macarii Romani» y la «Navigatio Brendani», pretendemos analizar un nuevo concepto cristiano del espacio geográfico plasmado mediante la metáfora del viaje; viaje que los protagonistas, monjes en ambos casos, emprenden hacia un destino real y al mismo tiempo imaginario: el paraíso terrenal.
