conocimiento cooperativo in situ que sea identificable y atribuible a procesos
[EN] This research focuses on the behaviour of a group of
Twitter profiles which are linked by a connection with the Information Science
world, among which there is a flow of professional/scientific information. The
aim of this research has been to identify, in this reality, a virtual community of
knowledge. Through an ethnographic methodology, based on observation and
complemented with quantitative measures, virtual identities and social
architecture have been interpreted, as a method to reveal the feeling of
belonging, tool conceptions and autoassigned roles. It has been investigated if
the group of profiles really forms a virtual community through the identification
of community features such as feeling of belonging, motivation, code of
practice, commitment to collaboration and interaction. Finally, there has been
an attempt to change a fact from the virtual community of knowledge,
indentifying, at the same time, the idiosyncrasy of a reality inside the other one.
Technological limitations of the tool and its use by the agents as a cultural
artefact, makes imposible to create any cooperative knowledge which can’t be
identified or ascribable to discussion processes. However, this research has
positioned Twitter as a great information and data supplier which could be
located in the first stages of the knowledge creation process</dcterms:abstract>
