<mods:abstract>[ES] Nicolás Maquiavelo (1469 – 1527), un humanista italiano, y Hán Fēi (ca. 280 – 233 a.n.e.), un filósofo chino, fueron los autores de dos obras de gran importancia: Hán Fēi Zǐ y El príncipe. Estos dos escritores, a pesar de haber vivido en épocas y lugares totalmente diferentes, llegaron a las mismas conclusiones en las filosofías políticas que plasmaron en sus obras. En estas, el soberano debe convertirse en la máxima autoridad del Estado y, para ello, debe concentrar en su persona todo el poder político, mientras mantiene un control férreo sobre la población mediante la aplicación de castigos y recompensas.</mods:abstract>
<mods:abstract>[EN] Niccolò Machiavelli (1469 - 1527), an Italian humanist, and Hán Fēi (ca. 280 - 233 BCE), a Chinese philosopher, were the authors of two works of great importance: Hán Fēi Zǐ and The Prince. These two writers, despite having lived in totally different times and places, reached the same conclusions in the political philosophies that they embodied in their works. In these, the sovereign must become the highest authority of the State and, to this effect, he must concentrate all of political power in his person, while maintaining an iron control over the population through the&#xd;
