La ciberdelincuencia transnacional. Principales desafíos en la investigación durante pandemia por Covid-19

[ES] 2020 fue un año crucial debido a la pandemia por Covid-19. En el confinamiento, las personas
y empresas fueron víctimas de innovadores ataques en el ciberespacio; y las criptomonedas
fueron la mayor fuente de financiamiento del ciberdelito a través de ataques de phishing,
ransomware y explotación sexual infantil, produciendo desafíos para la investigación de la
ciberdelincuencia. Por el carácter transnacional de la ciberdelincuencia, surgen oportunidades
para la adopción de instrumentos regulatorios en materia de cooperación internacional y
judicial por parte de los estados y la implementación de estrategias de ciberseguridad; así
como la adquisición de competencias especializadas por partes de las autoridades.
[EN] The year 2020 was crucial due to pandemic of covid-19. During lockdown, individuals and
enterprises were victims of innovative attacks in cyberspace; cryptocurrencies, were the
major funding source for cybercrime through phishing, ransomwares and child sexual
exploitation attacks, producing challenges for the investigation of cybercrime. The
transnational element in cybercrime, conducts to opportunities for the adoption by the states,
of regulatory frameworks on international and judicial cooperation matters, such as the
implementation of cybersecurity strategies and the acquisition of specialized competencies by
the authorities.
