<dc:description>[EN]In recent years, the cult of appearance has gained even more importance, completely
altering the socially accepted ideals of beauty. This leads to more frequent experiences of
body dissatisfaction based on self-image. However, there are not many studies on women
during the postpartum period.
This discomfort with one's appearance can trigger eating disorders (ED). This study presents
a validation of the SATAQ-4 test for body dissatisfaction during pregnancy and its changes
after childbirth. Additionally, it analyzes the possible correlation between this test and the
EDPS, which examines depression in women during the postpartum period.
To achieve this, an evaluation was conducted on a group of 137 women using a
questionnaire adapted to Spanish culture based on the SATAQ-4 and EDPS. The results
reveal that there is no correlation between them. However, the test has been validated by
reducing the number of items and its dimensionality while maintaining optimal levels of
reliability and validity. Psychometric techniques based on Classical Test Theory (CTT) and
Item Response Theory (IRT) were used for this work</dc:description>
