[ES] La obra de Sempere y Guarinos abarca gran cantidad de temas, pero todos ellos tienen el denominador común de contribuir a modernizar y mejorar la sociedad y la política españolas. En la cuestión de los terremotos se barajaba la comprensión del mal natural y la necesidad de darle una respuesta racional y no religiosa.
[EN] The work of Sempere y Guarinos includes a lot of subjets, but the main purpose of his works is the modernization of spanish politics and society. About earthquakes, Sempere worked in order to clarify the question about natural catastrophes and the need for give a rational, not religious, answer to that question.
