papel importante en la anosognosia (Stuss y Benson, 1986; McGlynn y Schacter, 1989;
Damasio, 1994).
discapacitada y tests neuropsicológicos de funciones ejecutivas (López et al., 1994;
<dc:description>[EN]Awareness of our performance is a critical component of normal cognition
gives us the ability to recognize our limits and choose our activities
line. Alzheimer's disease (AD), there is a limiting condition
greatly intervention. Patients are unaware of their deficits, which
contributes to not be involved both in training to keep their
cognitive abilities.
This condition, anosognosia, was studied for many years from different
perspectives, both cognitive and psychological, and neuroimaging methods,
reaching a current state quite promising.
Influential theories suggested that the prefrontal cortex and its connections play a
important role in anosognosia (Stuss and Benson, 1986, McGlynn and Schacter, 1989;

disability and neuropsychological tests of executive functions (Lopez et al., 1994;
Michon et al., 1994, Ott et al., 1996 meetings). In addition, previous studies found
frontal hypoperfusion in patients with anosognosia (Reed et al., 1993; Starskstein et al.
1995; Derouesne et al., 1999). Some other studies have found cognitive deficits and
with anatomical alterations of consciousness in patients with AD. These
findings include right parieto-occipital dysfunction (Ott et al., 1996, Ott et al.
1996) and deficits in procedural memory (Starkstein et al., 1997). In this
paper, we review this issue in a unifying form, summarizing jobs
important literature from different perspectives.</dc:description>
