[ES] La esquizofrenia es una compleja enfermedad y su heterogeneidad clínica y evolutiva
sigue constituyendo un desafío para los investigadores, ha sido considerada desde un
principio como un síndrome clínico que afecta diferentes procesos como el
pensamiento, la emoción, los movimientos, el comportamiento, y aspectos cognitivos
como la memoria, la atención, el lenguaje y especialmente las funciones ejecutivas. El
objetivo de este trabajo es revisar la evidencia disponible acerca de las alteraciones del
funcionamiento ejecutivo observadas en pacientes con diagnóstico de esquizofrenia. Los
resultados ponen de manifiesto que en estos pacientes existe una alteración de las
funciones ejecutivas, concretamente en los componentes de memoria de trabajo,
atención sostenida, inhibición, flexibilidad cognitiva y planificación, existiendo una
correlación significativa entre los síntomas negativos y el déficit ejecutivo.
[EN] Schizophrenia is a complex disease and its clinical heterogeneity and evolutionary
remains a challenge for researchers has been considered from a
first as a clinical syndrome that affects many different processes such as
thought, emotion, movement, behavior, and cognitive aspects
as memory, attention, language, and particularly the executive functions. The
objective of this paper is to review the available evidence of abnormal
executive function observed in patients with schizophrenia. The
results show that in these patients there is an alteration of
executive functions, specifically in working memory components,
sustained attention, inhibition, cognitive flexibility and planning, and there is a
significant correlation between negative symptoms and executive deficits.
