[EN] Our general hypothesis is that the work of novelty detection is a basic principle of functional organization of the auditory system and the potential for disparity (MMN) and the novel sound detector neurons are different expressions, but correlated, activation of this novelty detection system. Knowledge about the neural mechanisms involved in novelty detection in the auditory system involves establishing the possible functional relationships between these neurons and the potential for disparity (MLM). To do this, it is essential to characterize the nature of the responses of these same neurons at different levels of the auditory pathway. Since the largely unknown details of this type of adaptation in the medial geniculate body and that existing studies are largely debatable (Anderson et al., 2009; Ulanovsky et al., 2003, Yu et al., 2009) we think that we need a detailed study of the physiological characterization of specific adaptation thalamic stimulation in the center.
