[ES] Este estudio analiza la representación teatral de la población africana que se realizaba en España en el teatro de esta época, refiriéndose concretamente a Juan Latino de Diego de Enciso, El valiente negro en Flandes de Andrés Claramonte y El Santo negro Rosambuco de Lope de Vega, con una somera referencia a la imagen de esta población plasmada en la pintura barroca y a la representación ambigua, simbólica y enigmática que caracterizaba tanto la pintura como el teatro.
[EN] In this study the author analyzes the theatrical portrayal of the African population living in Spain at the time of the Golde Age, focusing on Juan Latino by Diego de Enciso, El valiente negro en Flandes by Andrés Claramonte and El Santo negro Rosambuco by Lope de Vega, briefly referring to the image of the black population as portrayed in the Baroque paintings of the time and their ambiguous, symbolic and enigmatic depiction in both painting and theatre.
