[EN] This essay shows how African American playwright Ed Bullins, rather that directing his loathing towards a White audience, places a mirror in front of the Black audience to show the violence and self-destruction they are performing against themselves. Consequently, the Black community plays a pivotal role in the Bullins’ theatre whose aesthetics, in contrast to the western theatrical canon, equally mirrors African American culture.
