Literatura infantil: Traducción de un cuento ilustrado. Traducción comentada japonés-español.

Abstract

[SP] La traducción de la literatura infantil tiene sus propias características y complejidades. Para conseguir una buena traducción es necesario tener en cuenta al destinatario del producto, así como sus necesidades y conocimientos. Por otro lado, la traducción de la literatura infantil del japonés al español parece que empieza a tener presencia en el mercado español y trae consigo sus propios retos de traducción. La traducción del cuento Kumonosu oyabun torimonochō de Ayuko Akiyama resulta interesante por la cantidad de elementos culturales y por la adaptación a las expectativas de su público infantil que requiere. Junto con la traducción habrá un comentario en el que se explique detenidamente las decisiones tomadas durante el proceso de traducción. Se contemplarán los casos de adaptación cultural, así como lo que supone traducir un texto que se apoya en ilustraciones. Asimismo, se hablará de la traducción de los nombres propios que aparecen en la historia y de otras características propias de la traducción del japonés como el yakuwarigo y las onomatopeyas.

[EN] Children’s literature translation has its own characteristics and difficulties. In order to obtain a satisfying translation, we need to remember who the target audience is and take into account their necessities and knowledge. On the other hand, children’s literature translated from Japanese to Spanish is emerging in the Spanish market, and it has its own translation challenges. Translation of Ayuko Akiyama’s Kumonosu oyabun torimonochō is interesting due to its cultural elements and the necessity of adaptation to Spanish children’s expectations. The translation will be accompanied by a commentary explaining in detail the decision behind the translation process. Cultural adaptation and the translation of a text that relies on pictures to tell a story will be discussed. Furthermore, the translation of proper nouns that appear in the story and other characteristics of Japanese translation, like yakuwarigo or onomatopoeia, will be explored.
