Las Monjas Músicas en los conventos españoles del Barroco. Una aproximación etnohistórica

Abstract

[ES] En este artículo abordamos el protagonismo y la importancia que los monasterios femeninos han tenido en la historia de la música española. Numerosos documentos de los siglos XVI y XVII nos dan una valiosa información sobre las actividades profesionales de la mujer en diversas instituciones eclesiásticas y, por lo tanto, son una invitación para dar una nueva dimensión a la perspectiva histórica de la actividad musical femenina desde la época moderna.

[EN] In this article we study the protagonism and the importance that feminine monasteries have had in the history of the Spanish music. Numerous documents from the 16th and 17th centuries give us a valuable information about the professional activities of women in different ecclesiastic institutions and, therefore, there are an invitation to give a new dimension to the historical perspective of the musical feminine activity from the modern time to our age.
