La movilidad de los grupos humanos en el Magdaleniense de la Región Cantábrica y los Pirineos: una visión a través del arte

Abstract

[ES]La investigación realizada en nuestra Tesis Doctoral propone un análisis comparativo entre el arte del Magdaleniense Medio cantábrico y aquel de la región pirenaica, con vistas a poner en evidencia la naturaleza de las relaciones entre los grupos humanos que habitaron estas dos regiones durante este periodo. Para ello, hemos desarrollado un estudio de las cadenas operativas y de la tecnología del grabado, a partir del análisis microscópico de los trazos grabados sobre piezas de arte mobiliar de las cuevas de Las Caldas (Asturias), La Garma (Cantabria) e Isturitz (Pirineos Atlánticos). Esta investigación ha sido completada con el análisis estadístico de las características formales y estilísticas de ciertos tipos de decoración propias de este período sobre los registros del arte mobiliar de la Región Cantábrica y del Suroeste de Francia. Las convergencias localizadas en las cadenas gestuales del grabado, así como las variaciones formales identificadas en las obras de arte mobiliar muestran una uniformidad que revela la existencia de estrechas relaciones entre las regiones estudiadas, fruto de un substrato cultural homogéneo. Sin embargo, la existencia así mismo de divergencias señala que estas relaciones no han sido homogéneas en todos los sitios y regiones, ni han tenido la misma importancia para todo el registro artístico.

[EN] Research in our PhD thesis proposes a comparative analysis between the art of Middle Magdalenian Cantabrian and that of the Pyrenean region, in order to highlight the nature of relationships between human groups who inhabited these regions during this period. To do this, we developed a study of the operational chain and technology of printmaking, from the microscopic analysis of the traces recorded on pieces of portable art in the caves of Las Caldas (Asturias), La Garma (Cantabria) and Isturitz (Pyrenees Atlantiques). This research has been completed with the statistical analysis of the formal and stylistic characteristics of certain types of decoration typical of this period on the records of portable art of the Cantabrian region of southwestern France. The convergences gestural chains located in the engraving, as well as formal variations identified in the works of portable art exhibit uniformity reveals the existence of close relations between the regions studied, the result of a homogeneous cultural substrate. However, the existence of differences likewise points out that these relationships have not been consistent across all sites and regions, nor had the same importance for all the artistic record.
