[EN] Soil is an essential component of the environment and maintain its quality is critical to ensure sustainability. The use of fertilizers has been increasing at a higher rate than food production. Agriculture depends obtained phosphorus rock phosphate, which is a nonrenewable resource. It is therefore necessary to improve the efficiency of phosphorus in all agroecosystems. However, there are few studies on the interaction of grasses and legumes in relation to phosphorus. The objective was to study the effects of grass-legume mixture and P fertilization on biochemical and microbiological properties of the soil. It established a field experiment with monocultures and mixtures of alfalfa and orchardgrass at different rates under two regimes and phosphorus fertilization. The total microbial biomass, and relative abundance of saprophytic fungi and actinomycetes were microbiological parameters most affected by seasonality. The microbial community structure also changed over the years and seasons. Soil respiration, nitrogen mineralization, and glucosidase and phosphatase activities were higher in spring while it was arylsulfatase activity in summer. The type of vegetation affected both types of parameters. Total microbial biomass and the relative abundance of mycorrhizal fungi increased as did the proportion of cocksfoot, while that of saprophytic fungi, actinomycetes and Gram positive and negative bacteria did with alfalfa. The microbial community structure, that of cocksfoot monocultures was significantly different from that of other treatments. The rate of soil nitrogen mineralization was higher in predominantly alfalfa crops. Soils with high P fertilization consistently had the lowest values of arylsulfatase activity
