Resumen
Actualmente nos encontramos dentro de un largo proceso de integración de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) en la enseñanza superior; Podemos encontrar infinidad de aspectos que están imposibilitando que este proceso tan necesario para la educación en la actualidad no se esté realizando de una manera más rápida y eficaz. Se han atribuido infinidad de aspectos a la resistencia al cambio por parte de los profesores, pero quizá el problema no sea actitudinal, sino pragmático, pues en infinidad de ocasiones, los docentes no incluyen de manera significativa las TIC en sus clases, no por no querer, sino por no encontrarles una utilidad que les haga mejorar; hecho que en parte sucede, porque existe cierta falta de conocimientos/formación por parte del profesorado al respecto. Si en una sociedad tan versátil como la actual, donde las necesidades educativas son cada vez mayores y diferentes, queremos conseguir una educación de calidad para todos, la formación de los docentes debe estar actualizada y ser adecuada a sus necesidades reales. Debemos centrarnos más en la formación del profesorado en aspectos TIC, para que luego, una vez estén capacitados para el uso de las TIC en sus aulas, sean libres de decidir si les conviene usarlas o no. Las TIC tienen un potencial reconocido para apoyar el aprendizaje, la construcción social del conocimiento y el desarrollo de habilidades y competencias de aprendizaje autónomo. Teniendo en cuenta, que no son la panacea que solucionará todos los problemas existentes en el mundo de la educación, creemos, que si el profesor recibe la formación adecuada, y es consciente de las posibilidades que le pueden ofrecen las TIC aplicadas a la educación, éstas, usadas correctamente, serán nuestro mejor aliado a la hora de enfrentarnos a la difícil tarea de educar en la sociedad actual. Una de las posibilidades educativas que nos ofrecen las TIC es la posibilidad de vencer las barreras de tiempo y espacio, por medio de los Campus Virtuales, a través de sistemas Learning Management System (LMS). Tras la realización de diversos cursos eLearning a través del campus virtual de la Universidad de Salamanca (USAL): “Studium” (moodle 1.9), mediante esta comunicación intentaremos ver cómo se debe formar al profesorado para el mejor uso posible de las TIC, de manera que se facilite tanto al docente como al discente su labor dentro de los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Para solventar las deficiencias observadas tendremos en cuenta la opinión de ciertos autores de relevancia reconocida al respecto. En la llamada Sociedad de la Información y la Comunicación (SIC), el periodo de formación de una persona dura toda una vida y no debe concluir nunca. El profesorado, para atender a esas necesidades formativas de la sociedad, debe tener una formación continua de calidad que le permita utilizar de manera adecuada, si lo desea y/o necesita, todas las herramientas educativas que existan.
