[EN]Author's ten-month stay as an Erasmus exchange student in the small Norwegian town of Kristiansand enabled her to detect the importance given to the nature in the society of this Nordic country and ascertained its big protagonist inside the educational model.
Returning to Spain suggests the convenience of carrying out a comparative study about the meaning outdoor education is granted in both countries.
Early steps on that study bring some news, informing that the first outdoor kindergarten in Spain, addressed to 3 to 6 year-old kids, will open its doors in the school year 2015-2016. It will be the first homologated and authorized school in our country to implement ‒in that environment‒ the official curriculum and it is given the consequent center code from the Educational Counseling of its region.
The purpose of this investigation is thus extended. It aims to value the applicability of outdoor education in the region of Castilla y León, rich in natural spaces. A case study is carried out to inquire about it, using qualitative methodology and collecting data provided by a team of teachers of a rural emplacement in the province of Salamanca, through a group discussion, guided by the author in a natural setting belonging to the school environment.
