La Terapia Asistida con Caballos mejora las competencias establecidas en el currículum de Educación Infantil en una niña con Trastorno del Espectro Autista

Abstract

[ES]La presente investigación se centra en demostrar, a partir de datos cuantificables, que la Terapia Asistida con Caballos contribuye de forma positiva a la mejora de las competencias establecidas en el currículum de Educación Infantil en una niña con Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Dicha terapia, emergente en nuestro país, utiliza al caballo como agente motivador y facilita al terapeuta el trabajo con la persona con dificultades. El caballo es un ser maravilloso, con una gran capacidad para transmitir emociones. Las personas con TEA tienen grandes dificultades para comunicarse, y el caballo trata de comunicarse con el niño mediante vías de comunicación alternativas a las que utilizamos los humanos habitualmente, lo cual abre una pequeña puerta al terapeuta para poder trabajar con estas personas a partir del vínculo que establecen con el caballo. Los objetivos que se trabajan durante las sesiones con el caballo están íntimamente relacionados con los objetivos establecidos en el currículum de Educación Infantil. Tras realizar una observación sistemática y exhaustivo análisis de siete sesiones de terapia llevadas a cabo a lo largo de tres meses, podemos responder a la pregunta: ¿La terapia asistida con caballos ayuda a la consecución de los objetivos planteados en el currículum de Educación Infantil?

[EN]The present study is focused on determining whether the Horse-Assisted Therapy contributes to acquire the key skills that are established in the second cycle of Pre-school Education in a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The Horse-Assisted Therapy, recently settled in our country, facilitates the task of learning in any handicapped or diseased person. The horse is a magnificent animal with a great ability to convey emotions. Children with ASD have difficulties in communication and the horse makes possible the communication by other ways that are different to those used by humans. This opens a window to work with children with ASD. In this study, the objectives to accomplish during the therapeutic sessions are those established in the second cycle of Pre-school Education. After recording the sessions and analyzing the data of 7 horse-assisted sessions, that were carried out during 3 months, the results support the use of horse-assisted therapy as an excellent strategy to achieve the competences of the second cycle of Pre-school Education in children with ASD.
