Resumen
[EN]The photo-novel is an intermedial genre formed by literature and photography; however, it is necessary to transgress its traditional form to be a place of critical reflection on the supposed mimetic condition of photography and its limitation as a spatial art. In this work the new photo-novel is proposed as a possibility to approach the narrative and fictional dimension of photography, in relation to literature, while recognizing its specificity with respect to other intermediate genres, such as some of Wright Morris’ novels and W.G. Sebald that include photographs. As an example of the experimentation on the photo-novel, the formulas of Marie-Françoise Plissart and Chris Marker are analyzed, in which a close relationship of photography with memory and a different perception of time as fragmentation of instants can be apreciated.
