Resumen
[ES]El uso de animales de experimentación, como herramienta para el aprendizaje en educación superior, sigue siendo un tema muy discutido y el desarrollo de “alternativas”, gracias a las nuevas tecnologías, ha dado lugar a un cambio de paradigma. Las prácticas de Farmacología que impartimos en la Universidad de Salamanca siguen esta corriente. Con esta iniciativa se pretende que los estudiantes aprendan a valorar la actividad analgésica por el test de la placa caliente sin utilizar animales, una gran ventaja desde el punto de vista ético y económico, sin que el proceso de aprendizaje se vea resentido.
Descripción
La realización del protocolo experimental del "test de la placa caliente" se ha grabado en vídeo a tiempo real, utilizando 3 lotes (control, morfina y problema) con 6 ratones cada uno. Los tiempos de salto de cada uno de los animales se miden la primera vez para que los animales aprendan, lo que hemos denominado medida de prueba, e inmediatamente antes de administrar los fármacos a evaluar (tiempo 0) y a los 10, 20, 30, 60 y 90 minutos post-administración. Así hemos obtenido vídeos, para cada lote, a cada uno de los tiempos del ensayo. En la práctica, realizada en aulas de informática y supervisada por un profesor, los estudiantes visualizan los vídeos y anotan los “tiempos de salto” de cada animal. A continuación, los datos obtenidos se procesan, representan, analizan y discuten.
