En torno al debate de la Capilla de San Martín en la Catedral Vieja de Salamanca

Abstract

[ES]El trabajo investiga y examina la capilla de San Martin de la Catedral Vieja de Salamanca, teniendo como principal objetivo incidir sobre las problemáticas en torno a su configuración arquitectónica, sepulcros y pinturas murales. Por lo tanto, se hace especial hincapié en generar un plano comparativo entre las distintas acepciones e interpretaciones de los historiadores que han intentado reconstruir a través de las imágenes el sentido y función especifica de la capilla y sus pinturas en relación con los sepulcros que se encuentran en ella. Por ello, se reúne en el trabajo los análisis más relevantes llevados a cabo sobre este espacio funerario, incluyendo también, fotografías de las pinturas, sepulcros y planos de la capilla. [EN] This study investigates and examines the chapel of San Martin of the Old Cathedral in Salamanca, having as main objective to deepen into its architectural configuration, tombs and mural paintings.Thus, special emphasis is given in generating a comparative plan of the different meanings and interpretations provided by historians who have tried to reconstruct the meaning and the function of the chapel and its paintings through images and in relation to the tombs which were found in it. For this reason, the most relevant analyzes regarding this funerary space are gathered in this study. Photographs of the paintings, sepulchers, and designs of the chapel are also included.
