[EN] The aim of the education system is to promote the learning and the
all-round development of the students. However, in recent years,
disruptive behaviours of some students hinder teaching activities and have
become a major concern for teachers. Educators recognize that they lack
appropriate strategies to identify and to manage these behaviours, which is
the main reason for the urgency of the future teacher training regarding this
issue.
The present research entitled “Initial teacher training on addressing
disruptive behavior in the classroom”, analyses, from a non-experimental
and descriptive study, the training of Primary Degree students, in strategies
to prevent or deal with these behaviours.
The results reveal that the students attach great importance to
dealing with these behaviours, in order to make the teaching-learning
process successful. However, the students acknowledge that they are not
ready to address these behaviours after their university education, and thus
they request to be trained to develop techniques and strategies to enable
them, in that sense, to carry out their educational work.
Bearing in mind the dimensions of the study established, and
regardless of the sex or of the specialization of the student body, initial
training in emotional education, observation and listening strategies,
behavioural techniques to reduce inappropriate behaviours or to promote
more productive ones, cognitive techniques and training to carry out
tutorials with parents and students are all considered to be necessary.
