Resumen
[EN] The digitalization of gender violence and its manifestation in social networks offers a new space
of study and action for social education, which must face the special characteristics of this problem. Therefore,
the following study focused on examining the role of education in the prevention of this violence within
the Instagram platform. To this end, the relationship between the content consumed and generated and the
self-perception of male violence during a period of 7 calendar days was qualitatively analyzed in a total of 10
participants who were undergraduate students of Social Education at the University of Salamanca. The results
obtained reflect that specific training in the subject constitutes a protective factor for the participants of the
study. We conclude that, although education in equality is understood as a protective element in these scenarios,
it is necessary to attend to different educational strategies for a greater prevention of risks associated with
violence against women.
