[EN] In the period comprised between the taking of Valencia in 1707 and the Peace of Vienna of 1725, there was strong repression in Spanish territory and control of the support for Austria (austracismo) of the former foral territories. Sedition and diffidence were considered to be the greatest offences, especially since they were committed by nobles and ecclesiastics, both groups with great influence on the masses. Analysis of documents of the period gives the Bourbon view of the conflict and its possible solutions, both administrative and military, which can be summarised as strong control at all levels —ecclesiastical, political and civil— without rejecting direct repression.
