[EN] Great quantity of testimonies written in remote times on the contraception

The contraceptive methods most recommended in the antiquity, they can gather in crowds Basically in three groups: to clean the vagina after the coitus; to use honey, alum or acid Lactic as spermicidal barriers; and the mystical suggestion of which the woman jumps towards Behind seven times immediately after the sexual relation. Some of them They would seem to be reasonable; others, not so much; but all of them would prove, surely, very Slightly effective. Other less practical contraceptive methods include the " fumigation of The vagina with the smoke of incandescent grasses " and the ingestion of a " prepared potion With oily and certain grasses " (118). Likewise, varied methods were in use Wizards who have lasted, in some populations, to the present day. Between these, he finds the belief of which if certain quantity of seeds is buried, ó if the woman sits down on a number of fingers of his hand, this will determine the quantity of children that will have in the future.
