[EN]The main working hypothesis is that the presence of certain genetic variants in genes encoding certain cytokines may be related to asthma and its different types and severity.
The secondary hypothesis is that different types and severity of asthma may be determined also by haplotype combinations (in the same gene or, where appropriate, chromosome) or combinations of polymorphisms from different genes (epistasis)
