Abstract

[ES] El prólogo explica a las razones de por qué se escribió este libro de ensayos en colaboración con la teórica afroamericana Frances Smith Foster; la contribución especial de la escritora jamaicana Velma Pollard (quien escribió la introducción); las ilustraciones especialmente realizadas por el artista cubano Tomás González para este libro; y la división en tres áreas de este estudio (Familia y sociedad; La familia en las artes visuales y escénicas; y Familia y literatura). El libro contiene artículos en inglés y en castellano, incluyendo además resúmenes de todos ellos en ambos idiomas al final del mismo. [EN] In the prologue it is explained why this book of essay was written in collaboration with the African American scholar Frances Smith Foster: the special contribution of Jamaican writer Velma Pollard (who wrote the introduction); the illustrations especially done by the Cuban artist Tomás González for this book; and the division of this study in three sections (Family and Society; Family in the Visual and Performing Arts; and Family and Literature). The book includes essays in English and in Spanish, and contains the abstracts in both languages of all of them at the end of it.
