Evaluación y evolución de un sistema digital de información bibliográfica: El caso de la Biblioteca Virtua Miguel de Cervantes

Abstract

Recovery systems of information online are becoming more important as increasing services of documentation provided on the Internet are increasing their users and the information given. In this sense, the catalogs become the cornerstone of all types of information units and especially in the virtual, as the main access point to the collection. The current trend is simplicity, in order to make the interface accessible to users, but to see if this requirement is met, it must be evaluated in order to correct its behavior if necessary. The example of the Virtual Library Miguel de Cervantes and the interfaces it uses is given, as they operate together the ones used before and the ones that are going to supplant these and whether this new system is actually more accessible, simple and retrieve relevant information, is assessed . After evaluating, proposals for improvement for system feedback are provided.

[SP] Los sistemas de recuperación de la información en línea van cobrando mayor importancia, según van aumentando los usuarios de los servicios de documentación proporcionados en Internet y la información habida en éstos. En este sentido, los catálogos se convierten en la piedra angular en todo tipo de unidades de información y especialmente en las virtuales, al ser el punto de acceso principal a la colección. La tendencia actual es la simplicidad, con el fin de hacer la interfaz accesible a los usuarios, pero para verificar si este requisito se cumple, ésta ha de evaluarse con el fin de corregir su funcionamiento, si es preciso. Se pone como ejemplo la Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes y las interfaces que utiliza, ya que actualmente conviven las que antiguamente se utilizaban con las que van a suplantar a éstas y se evalúa si este nuevo sistema es realmente más accesible, simple y recupera información relevante. Tras la evaluación se ofrecen propuestas de mejora para la retroalimentación del sistema.
