El asociacionismo en enfermos con Artritis Reumatoide: Asociación Madrileña de Personas con Artritis Reumatoide (AMAPAR)

Abstract

[ES]Este Trabajo Fin del Máster Antropología Aplicada, Salud y Desarrollo Comunitario de la Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) presenta el desarrollo y las conclusiones de un estudio mixto (cuantitativo y etnográfico) que se incluye dentro del ámbito disciplinar de la Antropología y la Salud. El principal objetivo del estudio fue conocer las experiencias y beneficios del asociacionismo y la ayuda mutua en pacientes con Artritis Reumatoide (AR) y enfermedades afines de una Asociación de Pacientes Madrileña. Para ello, se realizó una extensa búsqueda de antecedentes y aspectos teóricos, que permitieran dar cuenta del estado de los estudios realizados hasta el momento sobre el movimiento asociativo en salud en España y en Madrid -desde diferentes disciplinas- , para luego analizar los resultados del análisis del caso local seleccionado a la luz de estas referencias. La información del caso se recopiló de dos formas, por un lado a través de una estadía extensa en la asociación en la que se utilizaron aproximaciones etnográficas a los sujetos principales de la asociación y por otro lado, se realizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas al 40% de los asociados/as de la asociación. Las conclusiones de este estudio representan un aporte al conocimiento de la situación actual del movimiento asociacionista en salud y las funciones y beneficios, sentidos por los asociados/as, que el movimiento cumple en y para sus procesos terapéuticos.[EN]This Final Work for the Master Applied Anthropology, Health and Community Development Universdad of Salamanca (USAL) presents the development and the results of a mix study (quantitative and ethnographic) within the discipline of Medical Anthropology. The main gold of this work was to study the experiences and benefits of mutual help in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and related diseases in a Madrileña Patients Association. To this end, we conducted an extensive search of history and theoretical studies that account for the status of the study of health associations in Spain and Madrid -from different disciplinary approaches-, and then analyze the results in light of these references. The information was gathered in two ways, first through an extensive stay in the association using with the main actors of the association, ethnographic approaches and on the other hand, semi-structured interviews to the 40% of partners in the association. The results of this study represent a contribution to the knowledge of the current state of health associative movement and the features and benefits that produces the movement for improving the therapeutic process for the persons with RA.
