Percepción de la institucionalización de personas mayores dependientes en el medio rural

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar cómo se percibe la institucionalización de personas mayores dependientes en centros residenciales, en el ámbito rural, por parte de distintos grupos de población. Para ello, partimos de una tesis inicial según la cual estas instituciones no son percibidas de forma homogénea por el conjunto de la población, sino diferenciada en función de la edad, es decir, de la generación en la que hayan nacido y según la clase social frente a otros que tendrán una perspectiva diferente. La finalidad última de la investigación es servir de herramienta para ayudar a la futura orientación de las políticas sociales que pretendan atender a este colectivo.

[ENG] The objective of this work is to analyze how the institutionalization of dependent elderly people in residential centers, in the countryside, by different population groups is perceived. To do this, we start from an initial thesis according to which these institutions are not perceived form homogeneous by the whole population, but differentiated according to age, i.e. of the generation in which they were born, and according to social class. This, there will be those who have a more optimistic view about this social reality to others who have a different perpective. The ultimate goal of the research, is to serve as a tool to help the future direction of social policies seeking to cater to this group.
