Lo erótico, lo sensual y lo sexual en la pintura barroca española

Abstract

[ES]Existe la idea de que por la influencia de la Contrarreforma en el arte español del siglo XVII no se representa de ningún modo el tema de la sexualidad. Desde el estudio de la cultura y de la sociedad, el examen de los tratados contemporáneos más influyentes y de la bibliografía que más ha abordado este tema, se intenta esclarecer si aparece o no el tema de la sexualidad en la pintura barroca española. Diversos ejemplos artísticos ilustran la investigación.

[EN]There is the idea that due to the influence of the Counter Reformation the Spanish art during the seventeenth century doesn’t represent the sexuality at all. From the study of the Spanish culture and society, the analysis of the most influential contemporary treaties and the literature that has surveyed this issue, the work tries to clarify if the topic of sexuality actually appears in the Spanish Baroque painting. Some artistic examples illustrate the research.
