Productores y producciones audiovisuales mapuche: una defensa de la identidad en Chile

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se analiza la corriente de generación de productos audiovisuales en defensa de la identidad mapuche. Para ello veremos quiénes producen esos discursos, cuáles son sus perfiles, qué los motiva, etc. A su vez, se tiene en cuenta qué características tiene el discurso de estos productos y cómo apelan a la historia y la memoria colectiva de este pueblo para construir su identidad y defender su cultura. Todo englobado en el contexto del llamado "conflicto mapuche" existente en Chile y el silenciamiento de estos productos desde los medios hegemónicos. Con tal fin, se tienen en cuenta conceptos como espacio público, violencia estructural y cultural, la construcción del otro y el uso propagandístico de la historia. En definitiva, analizar qué se crea desde lo mapuche -no hacia lo mapuche- cómo y por qué.

[EN] This research focuses on the stream of audiovisual production regarding the defense of the Mapuche identity. We are having a look at who makes such discourses, what their profiles are, what their motivations are, etc. Likewise, it bears in mind the features around the discourse of these products as well as how history and Mapuche collective memories are brought back in order to build up its identity and shield its culture. All this within the so-called “Mapuche conflict” framework currently existing in Chile and the mute surrounding these outfits by the hegemonic mass media. To address it, concepts such as public space, structural and cultural violence, the construction of the Other, and the propaganda around History are taken into consideration. In other words, analyze what is made from a Mapuche perspective -rather than Mapuchewards-, how, and why.
