[ES]Este trabajo comenta el modo en que, tanto en los conventos españoles como en los latinoamericanos, las religiosas del Siglo de Oro recurrieron a la palabra escrita para explayarse a su antojo sobre una variedad de temas. Saben que, aparte del primer lector, el padre espiritual que les manda escribir, otros contemporáneos tendrán acceso a su manuscrito. La escritura de la relación de su vida les abre un mundo distinto en el que descubren poco a poco la fuerza del poder que les es ofrecido. Aprovechan la ocasión para entablar una relación imaginaria con su(s) lector(es) que contiene alternativamente elementos de seducción y de transgresión. Además, suelen mostrar una voluntadde automanifestación que va más allá de lo comúnmente aceptado. Alzan la voz para reivindicar nuevos derechos, para expresar su creciente autonomía y el gusto con que empuñan la pluma.
[EN]This article commentate the way in which, as well in Spanish as in Latin American convents, the nuns of the Golden Age write about a variety of themes. They know that, besides the first reader, the spiritual father who obliged them to write, other contemporaries will have access to their manuscript. The writing of the story of their life opens another world where they gradually discover the force of the power that is offered to them. They seize the occasion to establish an imaginary relation with their contemporaries: composed by elements of seduction and transgression, the works of the nuns testify of a wish to manifest her selves that goes beyond the normally accepted. They raise their voices with the intention to reivindicate new rights, to express their growing autonomy and the pleasure with which they start to write.
